Principal's Message

Dear Beverly Families,

Happy First Day of School! This is far different from our usual first day. I know I’m a little sad that I was not able to be out at drop off greeting everyone and seeing all the smiling faces, stiff new jeans, and shiny new shoes. However, our teachers are working hard to ensure that our students and families still feel welcome in our virtual classrooms and excited about the year ahead.

I have a few things that I want to share with you today. The first is a video from our event last week. I missed a few pictures of teachers who were there. Photo journalism is not my strength and it got really busy really fast so I apologize in advance that not all staff are in the video but I thought it would be fun to see those I managed to capture and to help familiarize you with many of our staff as the school year gets started. Here’s the link to that video:Welcome Back Big Dogs!

In addition, as Canvas and Seesaw (our learning management systems) are probably pretty new to most of you, and are going to be a big part of your daily lives for a while, I wanted to include a few resources from our instructional technology department that might help you navigate these new platforms. Here are those resources:

And lastly, it wouldn’t be the first week of school without at least one form to fill out. Please take a moment to complete the information on this link only if your housing situation is unstable or transitional. McKinney-Vento Questionnaire. If you own, rent, or lease your home please do not complete this form. If you need a hard copy of this form, please contact our office at (425) 431-7732. There will be more forms coming. The rest will either be paper or haven’t been digitized yet but they are coming! Don’t worry!

That’s all I have for you today. I hope everyone was able to log into their morning meetings easily and that you had a wonderful first day. Don’t forget, teachers are teaching in the mornings and meeting with families in the afternoons on September 10, 11, 14, 15, 17, 18, 21, and 22 so there will be no classes in the afternoon. Starting on Thursday, September 24 we will be meeting with students all day. Here is an updated, more detailed school schedule. As always, you’re welcome to email or call with any questions or concerns. Take care.

Sincerely,

Danielle Sanders
